Rising New York stationed recording artist Mono Bagends recently got in touch with The Carolina Inquirer for another one on one interview, this time around Mono Bagends has a new single to push.... "You Drive Me Crazy" featuring singer Mela Bela! The fans and critics are loving this single, and some are comparing this to Pitbull and Flo-Rida! Read the interview and listen to what he has to say here.....
The Carolina Inquirer: What
has Mono Bagends been up to in 2013 so far?
Mono Bagends: It's
been very busy as of late. Been doing
more shows, interviews and the video and radio play is going up every week.
It's an exciting time.
The Carolina
Inquirer: For those that haven't heard you, what makes Mono Bagends different
than any other artists in the game so far?
Mono Bagends: I'm
just myself. I believe my story and upbringing is different from the typical
rapper so I tend to stand out more. I do not curse when I rap so that would
certainly make me different.
The Carolina Inquirer: Your
single "On Fire" is still getting a lot of love by DJs and radio
stations across the nation, last we spoke the official youtube video had
reached 50,000 + views and now the single has reached over 300,000 views and
continues to grow, what have you been doing to keep the single buzzing?
Mono Bagends: Staying active. Working with different promotional teams and
doing more shows. I've been traveling to
different states as well to spread the movement out. Just got back from Miami
and I actually have a show in Pennsylvania tomorrow. (NOTE: the interview took place a day before the actual event and was posted AFTER March 22nd). It's all about
networking....one thing leads to the next.
The Carolina Inquirer: You have a new single out too titled "You Drive Me Crazy", for those that haven't heard that single yet how would you describe it?
Mono Bagends: It's a fast paced fun dance record. It's about a bad relationship between a male and female. I wrote it when I was in one. Everyone person on the planet has been in one of those so it is a cool record that everyone can relate too.
The Carolina Inquirer: What
made you go in a different direction for this single?
Mono Bagends: I'm extremely
versatile as an artist. I don't stick to one type of sound. If I like a
beat I will rock out over it. I was
feeling it so I did it. I love performing that record...it is a lot of fun. I believe it has a lot of commercial appeal.
The Carolina Inquirer: You
worked with singer Mela Bela for your latest single "You Drive Me
Crazy", do you have any other songs with her?
Mono Bagends: Yes...we
just recorded another song. Sometimes we work on records together that she
doesn't do the singing on...we just play around with my flow and melodies. I
will always work with her whenever she wants too. She is an awesome singer but
an even more beautiful person.
The Carolina Inquirer: What are your plans for this single?
Mono Bagends: I haven't fully started pushing "You Drive Me Crazy" yet...I have leaked it to a few of the first companies that started with "On Fire". I'm going to shoot a video for it soon. "On Fire" is still blasting off so that's where the momentum is...This record will be a great follow up.
The Carolina Inquirer: What are your plans for the rest of 2013?
Mono Bagends: To stay active, keep working and push this movement to the next level. Great things are coming every day. I want to stay humble and enjoy the journey getting to the destination.
